| So I got my Nikon D50 dSLR a few weeks ago. It's such a kick ass
camera... now only if people would be willing to get me new lenses. I
really could go for some telephoto lenses, wide angle lenses, fish-eye
lenses or even speedlights. Anyone feeling generous?
Check out the difference in quality and colour between the three cameras. My college ring taken with the Nikon D50:

I enjoyed this wedding. I don’t
feel like writing much about it since it’s been a very long weekend and I have
been spending most of the day uploading the 734 pictures I’ve taken, but overall
it was a beautiful wedding. As expected The Patriot teared up when his fiancée walked
into the room. When they exchanged vows to each other, looking at each other’s
eyes and their eyes welling with tears, it was beautiful to see how The Patriot
choked to the point that he had to pause to compose himself before reciting the
vows. It’s beautiful. The wedding reception was pretty cool too and I had a
blast. All I can say is that since everything was within walking vicinity from
our hotel, I took advantage of the fact that I didn’t have to drive 25 miles
home and drunk like an alcoholic. And funny thing is, I wasn’t drunk!
All I can say is that although
the wedding was not as fancy as Fobus’s… it was definitely much better and the
best wedding I’ve been thus far. It was emotionally charged and you can totally
feel the love in the air. Perhaps I wasn’t exploited like I was at Fobus’s and
I was with the company of wonderful friends, that I enjoyed it so much. And no,
it’s not the alcohol speaking.
Only disappointing this is that
my hair doesn’t look very sharp. Bloody gel didn’t hold because I was sweating
bullets the entire time. Oh well. If you are interested in checking out more of the pictures, you can check them out at mypsace. For the complete version, let me know and I'll send you the photobucket album links.

Blogging live in San Antonio…
So for some odd reason I didn't get much sleep last night. Probably from the profuse drinking from of the Fat Tire last night and the impending excitement of going to San Antonio, I think I got a total of maybe 2 hours of sleep max. Around 3ish when I realized I couldn't sleep, I felt like watching Garden State and I played ManHunt until we were ready to leave for San Antonio.
So Beetle Bailey, The Rock, Silent Bob and I left Houston a little after 11 am today. While The Rock was driving the Bemer and Beetle Bailey was shotgun, Silent Bob and I sat in the back seat watching Wedding Crashers to pass time as we drove to Austin for lunch. Originally we were going to head to the University Co-op to get our Longhorn gear (I was going to price diploma frames) but since we were running a tad bit late, we just went ahead to Trudy’s and had our fill of Mexican Martinis. I can’t tell you how nice it is being back in Austin.
Not much happened when we got to San Antonio when we first arrived. We checked into our ghetto hotel, which ironically we’re paying $140 a night for 2 king-size beds. Silent Bob and I decided to room together since we wanted our room to be cold (60 degrees) and since we both don’t snore (as opposed to The Rock). It was kinda cool since our rooms were adjoining to Beetle Bailey’s and The Rock, but I thought it was a rip off since we had to pay to park our car in their garage ($10 per night).
I must say that the Patriot’s Rehearsal Dinner was the best I’ve been to thus far. There were approximately 30 people, mostly families from both sides aside from the four of us. It was interesting because they attempted to integrate the traditional Asian ceremony where the bride and groom to-be poured tea to their parents and relatives, but since The Patriot’s fiancée was Caucasian. Instead, the Patriot held the tray of tea and the bride-to-be gave it to his family and relatives. I think what happens traditionally is that the bride presents the tea to his side of the family and relatives as they kneel (and also wearing red) and the groom-to-be presents the tea to her side of the family and relatives. Needless to say, they each time they tea recipient received a red envelope (hopefully full of several hundreds of dollars). Overall, it was a fantastic rehearsal dinner and I had lots of fun, as the pictures to follow reflect. It was a very emotionally charged ceremony, where The Patriot reminisced how his family and best man have made him the man he was today. As expected, Mrs. Blue, his fiancée did the same with her family, except that the issue of her father’s death was brought up. Her father past away from a sudden heart attack three days after The Patriot asked his permission to marry Mrs. Blue. So everyone in the room seemed to cry but it was beautiful in every way. I think they’re going to make a magnificent couple. Definitely the best rehearsal dinner yet.

So we brought our own liquour for this weekend. Of course, the Apple flask is mine.

So Smuggy and I met up this evening at the theater. I haven’t seen her since last year and it was nice to hang out with her. Since we met up early at the MarqE, we just chilled and talk. It’s cool talking to her as she brings to the table a spin of wit and sarcasm. We decided on watching the movie Match Point, I think she picked that because she heard good reviews about it but I wouldn’t be surprised that she picked it because I like Scarlett Johansson. Anyway, so while we were waiting for the movie somehow the topic came up about relationships in which I came to the conclusion that a lot of people have a hard time distinguishing what true love is. My point was that many people get confused between love and lust, which is often blurred. The ironic thing was that became an underlying theme throughout the movie.
As for Match Point, definitely a must buy. I won’t say much about it except that it sure gives you twists and turns (definitely not predictable). It’s like Unfaithful meets Closer and of course I definitely like it because it was set in London. The Emily Mortimer is pretty cute and even despite her English accent, I think Scarlett Johansson was unbelieveably hot. Also you sorta root for the bad guy. Anyways go see it.

So Chiggity and Lucy Liu sent out their Wedding Itinerary. I'm pretty excited since this will be my first wedding that I'm part of the wedding party (officially). Guess what song they are playing… "Pachelbel’s Canon in D Major."

Normally, I wouldn’t think much of it except that Stanford Chick has brainwashed me into not enjoying it. See, somehow Stanford Chick in all her beauty and influence convinced me that this was a taboo song since she plays the Cello and Pachelbel’s Canon in D comprises like 4 notes that is played over and over and over again. If you don't know how the song goes, you can check it out here: http://www.kunstderfuge.com/-/engine.asp?file=pachelbel/fugue_11_(luquet).mid
Funny, especially coming from a guy that doesn’t read music or play any musical instrument. Well does a cowbell count? I do play a pretty mean cowbell.
